PROJECT DESIGN BRIEF:

Mount Lang is an ambitious project combining a heritage-listed Queenslander’s elegance with contemporary design elements. Scheduled for completion in late 2025, the project involves a complete renovation of the original house, the building underneath, and a modern extension. Careful consideration is given to preserving the character of the heritage home while introducing contemporary finishes. The internal spaces feature Cerano render linings, marble checker-patterned floor tiles, and striking arched doors, all of which add to the home’s refined aesthetic. The home’s two levels are united by a suspended slab design, while the large landscaping package will enhance the connection to the outdoor environment. The use of imported stone and materials reflects a commitment to creating a timeless, luxurious feel throughout the property.

CHALLENGES & ACHIEVEMENTS:

Managing the heritage aspects of the home has been central to the project, requiring strict adherence to heritage preservation guidelines while integrating modern elements. The meticulous level of finish required, particularly with the unique stone materials and imported finishes, adds another layer of complexity to the build. Additionally, the logistics of importing high-end materials and coordinating their installation has been challenging but has been overcome through precise planning and strong collaboration with suppliers and contractors.

The result will be a stunning fusion of heritage and modernity, maintaining the soul of the original Queenslander while creating a space designed for contemporary living with luxurious, high-end finishes.
