PROJECT DESIGN BRIEF:

This project involved a bold and refined modernist extension to a traditional character home, located in the heart of New Farm. Designed for a young and growing family, the residence carefully balances heritage charm with contemporary living. The architectural vision was brought to life through a distinctive and unconventional material palette, featuring globally sourced finishes that express individuality and warmth. The new addition delivers interconnected family zones with light-filled interiors and seamless transitions between communal and private spaces.

CHALLENGES & ACHIEVEMENTS:

Situated on a steeply sloping rear block with constrained one-way street access, this project demanded precise logistics and strategic planning. The tight site conditions, coupled with long international lead times for key materials, required exceptional coordination and adaptability throughout the build. Despite these complexities, the home was delivered on schedule, showcasing an extraordinary level of crafted detail. Specialist trades and rare materials were sourced from around the world to realise the architect’s vision without compromise. The outcome is a finely executed, detail-rich home that celebrates innovation, family function, and architectural integrity.
